The Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a contextual therapy that presents a brief version of the application, called FACT. The objective was to characterize the application of FACT and of brief interventions based on ACT and investigate possibilities of its application in the Brazilian scenario. Twenty-seven publications of an interventional nature between 2010 and 2020 were analyzed according to the methodological characteristics and the pillars of psychological flexibility addressed. The interventions were mostly aimed at people with a clinical condition of illness, in a group, with up to 4 meetings lasting 1 to 2 hours, followed by follow-up. Studies have generally addressed the three pillars of psychological flexibility. USA was the country with the most publications. Not Brazilian publications were found. Interest in the ACT and the search for evidence of its effectiveness by various research groups was noted, as well as its flexible nature in terms of procedures and target population. The Brazilian health system has characteristics that place it as a viable field of experimentation with this therapy. The FACT is a promising therapy model, increasingly studied, especially in the health field. In Brazil, lack of FACT studies highlights a potentially vast and unexplored field of research.
