The impact of sociodemographic and professional variables on Burnout syndrome in nursing staff

Professional health care are exposed to various occupational stressors, is persistent, can lead to Burnout Syndrome, psychosocial phenomenon, consisting of three dimensions: emotional exhaustion, despersonalization and low professional fulfillment. The objective of this study was investigate the impact of sociodemographic and labor variables on Burnout Syndrome in 282 nursing staff working in three hospitals in a city of Porto Alegre. The instrument used was a questionnaire survey of sociodemographic and professional variables and MBI - Maslach Burnout Inventory-HSS.
