The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a health care environment with a potential to disrupt emotional states that may interfere in the patient’s condition. The insertion of psychologists in this environment aims to identify and act upon issues that might interfere in the patient's adaptation to hospitalization and his recovery, thus contributing to the health promotion in this environment.
